Aislaans can have hair of any colour, though usually their hair, eyes and markings remain inside a "spectrum" of colours:
-Yellow-Orange-Red -Green- Light blue - Dark Blue -Pink, Violet, Purple They can also have white and/or black hair, since it's part of their natural skin tones. |
Common Eye Colour?
Same for the hair. Even the sclera is coloured, and it can also be black.
General aspect?
Aislaans are plantigrade humanoids. They have tentacles for hair, clawed feet, and big clawed arms. Their skin is black and white with markings from the same colour spectrum of their eyes and hair. They also have a pair of horns with a small tear drop like appendix that can glow when they experience strong emotions, like their eyes.
What type of clothes do they wear?
Aislaan prefer linen clothes to face the hot days in the desert, with colourful accessories and jewels, especially for their hair and horns. They can wear capes during the night due to the cold temperatures of the desert. People mostly wear kilt like clothes, and they don't usually wear trousers.

Where do they live?
The live in Lagin, the eastern desertic area of Eriu. Here the climate is extremely hot and arid, but the land is pretty fertile around the major water sources.

How do their houses look like?
Since wood is pretty hard to find in Lagin, aislaans had to find other solution for their houses.
For those who are sedentary, poorer homes are made from brick of mud and straws, while the richest part of the population can build them out of stones. Their roofs are flat, and they are part of the living area, and richer people can afford gardens too. Their houses are usually built on two floors. Nomads instead build portable cone-shaped tents made of animal skins and wooden poles. |
How do they take care of their deads?
Common people's bodies are cut into pieces and offered to the scavenging animals by the monks, while the Pontiff is mummified.
Go to "Religious and Funeral Traditions" in "Culture" for more infos. |
What kind of activities they prefer?
There is no such joy in a life of a Lagin inhabitant as when the moving circus comes to town!
They travel all over the desert to reach cities, town and villages to exibit. They usually reach the capital of Lagin during major festivals, and people from all Lagin come to see. A very peculiar form of art in this region is shadow play, a form of art usually aimed to kids, but that can be also enjoyed by elder people. When circuses are not in town, people can also enjoy some horse riding/racing through the desert. |
Economy?
This extremely arid area is very rich in building and decorative stones, gold, copper and lead ores, but also precious stones.
Trades are mostly only long-distance ones, because of the conformation of the land, but the efficient road system, and the tradition to raise animals to travel, help the traders in their affairs. Outside of the region, people commerce not only the natural resources stated before, but also animals, tapestry, and artifacts made out of glass, which are masterworks loved and known in all Eriu. |
What is their general attitude?
They are generally very welcoming and friendly people, but some aislaans have this obnoxious tendency to feel "superior" to other Eriu species because they believe they share some "divine elements" with the gods, that is to say their horns.
